SUMMARY OF JOB:

This Radiation Oncology Coder/Charge Capture Specialist position is ideal for someone that is extremely detail oriented. You will be capturing both Technical and Professional Codes for our Cancer Center specific for Radiation Oncology, working from the medical documentation, and ensuring that orders are accurate, documentation is complete and charges/codes are posted accurately. Additionally, this position will identify opportunities for improvement in clinical documentation and share that information with the appropriate clinical staff.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC or eligible specialty certification
  • Minimum 2 years experience in professional and facility coding/billing
  • Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology
  • CPT/HCPCs, Modifiers, ICD-10 and CMS NCCI edits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of outpatient hospital and physician charging and OPPS rules/regulations
  • Must have excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Above average analytical and critical thinking
  • 5+ years Health care Business Office experience

LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

AAPC CPC, AHIMA CCS, AHIMA CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA certification required
