About the role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Subcon Sourcing Manager to join our External Manufacturing Back-end team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing subcontractor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality services from subcontractors. Candidates for this role should possess a combination of technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and effective communication and negotiation skills.

What you will do

1. Commodity Management:

• Identify, evaluate, and select subcontractors based on capabilities, performance history, and alignment with project requirements.
• Responsible for execution of the Back-end sourcing strategy in selecting, categorizing and developing supply base to provide best in class external solution.
• Provide input into stakeholder scope of requirements by offering commercial suggestions.

2. Cost Management:

• Drive cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation, value engineering, and continuous cost monitoring.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and implement strategies to maintain cost competitiveness.

3. Contract Negotiation:

• Negotiate and finalize contracts with subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and conditions.
• Accountable for preparation, conclusion, and execution of all commercial/pricing related contracts with the suppliers in order to cover Nexperia’s risks.
• Work closely with legal and procurement teams to address contractual requirements and compliance.

4. Supplier Management:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, fostering collaboration and addressing any performance issues promptly.
• Maintain close relationship with supplier’s key account manager to ensure proper deployment of Nexperia’s requirements at supplier and be the focal point for any escalations towards supplier.
• Conduct regular performance and business reviews, and implement improvement plans as needed.

5. Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks associated with subcontracted services and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and ensure continuity of supply.

What you will need

• Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, products and the specific services provided by subcontractors.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with subcontractors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address issues in a proactive and systematic manner.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborate effectively with the Nexperia team and suppliers across regions and remotely.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) is often preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in subcon sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on the semiconductor industry.
