The Clinical Documentation Coordinator uses clinical/nursing knowledge of documentation requirements to improve overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation of patient records on a concurrent basis using a multidisciplinary team process. Works collaboratively with physicians to ensure clinical information in medical record is present and accurate and with the Hendrick Medical center coding staff to support that appropriate clinical severity of illness and Risk of Mortality is captured for the level of service rendered to all patients.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Associate Degree of Nursing Degree or BSN Required
Minimum Work Experience
5 Years Nursing Experience (Bedside) with at least 2-3 years charge nurse experience in specialty areas such as: Telemetry unit etc.
Required Licenses/Certifications
Current Active RN License
BLS certified
ACLS certification preferred
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Strong clinical and critical thinking.
Conduct current review with queries including clinical validation.
Provide basic CDI chart reviews.
Able to perform one-to-one physician interaction and reconciliation.
Possess a solid working knowledge of subject matter.
Must be detail oriented and attentive.
Able to multitask
Efficient in computer application knowledge and competent in computer keyboarding
