Description of Work
Perform routine work in cleaning and general upkeep of Lied Center building including offices, halls, conference rooms, classrooms, and restrooms. Scrub, strip, refinish and polish floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing and buffing machines. Vacuum and clean carpets using industrial-type vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors. Mix cleaning solution per instruction. Collect and dispose of refuse requiring heavy physical efforts. Remove snow and ice from steps of immediate building area(s). Lock and unlock building. Lift and move objects weighing about 50 pounds and occasionally more while moving furniture or setting up tables and chairs for special events. Perform minor and routine maintenance such as changing light bulbs, repairing shades & similar duties using ladders and hand tools. As team leader, oversee up to five student or on-call custodial staff, assigning and inspecting work. Day, evening, and weekend shifts will be required to cover event needs.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Eighth grade education required. Ability to follow oral and written instructions necessary. Must have the ability to understand cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios. Must have the ability to gain knowledge and skill to operate large cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency preferred. One year relevant custodial experience.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre-employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances. No
