Summary of Job:

Possessing a strong background in quality management systems and supplier audits, with experience in standards like ISO 9001 and AS9100, you will be involved in all stages of the supplier’s lifecycle, from initial assessment to ongoing performance monitoring and improvement. You will bring a strong understanding of quality principles, robust problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to resolving quality issues. A key member of Moog’s Global Supply Chain Program team, you will contribute to the development of Australian suppliers to ensure export opportunities into Moog’s global programs can be realized.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Managing and conducting on-site supplier assessments and audits to evaluate their quality systems and capabilities.
  • Supplier onboarding approval.
  • Managing and resolving non-conformances, including the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Supporting the development and implementation of supplier improvement plans.
  • Reviewing and approving supplier documentation (e.g., PPAP submissions, control plans, FMEAs).
  • Manages and performs supplier evaluation, performance monitoring and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conducting root cause analysis of quality issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of new product introductions (NPI).
  • Manages the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Approves/modifies supplier data within the ERP system.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, manufacturing) to ensure smooth product transitions into production & existing production.
  • Representing Moog in supplier meetings and negotiations.
  • Continuously improving supplier quality performance through data analysis and process optimization
  • Be an active participant in the Moog Zero Defect journey utilizing the AS9145 concepts.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
    • 5 Years' relevant experience in the manufacturing industry.
    • Proficiency with quality management systems, including ISO9001, AS9100 and other relevant aerospace standards.
    • Experience with industry-standard quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, MSA, SPC, APQP, AS9100).
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
    • Experience in core defect prevention tools (DFMA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Capability Analysis, Error Proofing, etc.)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in cross functional teams.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred:
    • AS9100 lead auditor training / certification is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations, particularly AS13000 series, AS9102, AS9103, and AS9145.
    • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification).
    • Strong understanding of GD&T and inspection methods

Eligibility:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen and can obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
  • Must satisfy police checks and employment screening verification including employment reference checks.
  • Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms. Regulation (ITAR) which in some circumstances can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1.

Travel: 25% Travel – approximately 1 week per month interstate travel foreseen for the initial 18 months of the role. Approximately one overseas trip per year is required.
