What You Will Do:
- Adhere to and follow kitchen standards and procedures
- Ensure best practices in preparing and presenting Kaiseki dishes, continuously seeking to improve existing techniques to higher-level chefs
- Oversee and ensure the quality and accuracy of each dish produced
- Organize, prepare, and maintain mise en place for the shift, ensuring all ingredients and tools are in place for the team
- Assist in managing kitchen inventory, ordering, and ensuring sufficient stock at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment
- Work closely with Sous Chefs and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and effective communication
- Ensure all health and safety standards are followed in food preparation and handling
- Take part in training and mentoring junior team members
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Japanese dining
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on Kaiseki or Japanese cuisine
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Organizational skills to manage kitchen responsibilities effectively
- Leadership abilities to guide and train junior staff
- Strong communication skills in both English and Japanese (preferably)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining the highest standards
