Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrating a high degree of customer service to quickly understand, clarify, and accurately route customer requests to existing solutions, training resources, and/or the proper ticket queue for further analysis by subject matter experts within Analytics’ scope
Serving as the “concierge” of Analytics by acting as the primary customer service contact for all Analytics reporting requests
Continuously keeping up-to-date on all report and data offerings across Analytics’ business intelligence tools: Epic Cogito SlicerDicer and Epic Cogito Reporting Workbench, Tableau, PowerBI, and SSRS
Prepare incomplete tickets to meet intake entry criteria in accordance with standard request templates when required
Working closely with the Epic Cogito team, Analytics team, Epic Applications’ teams, Clinical Informatics, and internal UW Medicine customers to understand how to offer the best solution to each customer
Persuade customers to utilize existing solutions that meet their needs whenever possible to avoid expansion of the reporting catalog
While all members of the Data Services Team are expected to develop a proficiency across the domains we support, the Data Navigator’s areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Providing advanced level technical guidance and maintaining a high level of awareness of current and future business intelligence and Epic Cogito technologies and best practices
Fully understand the various organizational structures of UW Medicine and their unique requirements
Supporting the Analytics communications plan and strategy
Supporting Analytics team members in explaining and maintaining a reporting infrastructure that meets the demands of UW Medicine
Supporting internal projects, initiatives, ITS, and departmental project tasks
Participating in internal team development projects, enhancements, and processes
This position must be able to work independently and within a team environment while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced information technology environment
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
4+ years of experience which must include:
4+ years of progressively advanced customer service experience with a history of delivering high quality products to customers in a high-volume environment
4+ years of recent healthcare or IT experience
3+ years’ experience performing progressively more complex and responsible Business Analysis tasks
Holds 1 or more current Epic certifications OR has obtained Epic proficiency in 2 or more areas and has consistently demonstrated technical competencies for 3+ years in relevant functional/business area
Experience with managing large volumes of tickets in ServiceNow
Intermediate experience with Epic Clarity Data Model reporting
Intermediate understanding of business intelligence reporting tools and best practices
Intermediate experience with healthcare data analytics processes and solutions
Practical knowledge of healthcare data and terminology
