Job Description

Summary:

Ensures service delivery applications are complete and accurate through thorough analyses and testing. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to create best-in-class solutions that integrate technology, information, and business processes. Matches appropriate technology solutions to internal and external business needs. Identifies, plans, develops, implements, and maintains business requirements that support client operational needs. Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify business systems. Writes detailed and thorough testing plans and risk management documents; conducts testing in accordance with test plans and ensures service readiness criteria are met prior to deployment of new or changed software. Provides advanced claims adjudication analysis and subject matter expertise related to the use of key business applications. Utilizes multiple databases and software applications to accomplish accurate and timely results within tight time frames. Relies on experience, judgment, business applications & systems knowledge, and technical skill to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs various types of analyses and tests related to business and system changes/enhancements (gap, impact, risk etc.).
  • Actively participates in the creation and monitoring of service and trouble requests from creation to implementation.
  • Creates and maintains related documentation/material pertinent to identified changes, such as work, data or process flows, analytical reports, decision support structures, use cases, as well as business rules, report design/mock-ups, etc. Participates in developing and executing communication and training plans relevant to implemented changes.
  • Creates and maintains project and test plans including task identification, prioritization, and sequencing of tasks, test plans, and user acceptance testing. Works with business partners to develop and execute test plans for application changes.
  • Writes and maintains detailed documentation of application user testing & validation activities including client specifications, expected outcomes, testing methodology & processes, test results, recommendations, version control, and configuration design.
  • Analyzes user test results and identifies discrepancies, inaccuracies, anomalies, and unexpected consequences. Makes recommendations and develops solutions to enhance the accuracy of Application system changes and configuration setups.
  • Works with client teams and client shared services business partners to provide advanced claims adjudication analysis. Provides guidance and input in the development of specifications. Creates and executes systems queries to extract claims adjudication information, validate data, and prepare complex variance and disruption analysis reports.
  • Partners with internal and external business partners in the development of new or enhanced applications, systems tools, and other systems solutions. Adheres to standard documentation, testing, and sign-off procedures for the development of new functionalities.
  • Utilizes planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills to ensure timely deliverables, high levels of quality, and efficient use of resources to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Maintains commitment to operational goals in the face of obstacles. Collaborates and cultivates positive relationships with internal and external customers through delivery of sustainable, measurable, accurate, reliable, and timely results that meet or exceed customer expectations. Promptly responds to service failures, resolves issues, and escalates concerns as appropriate.
  • Promotes continuous improvement by ensuring adherence to quality principles. Seeks out and actively participates in business initiatives that contribute to service excellence.
  • Writes and maintains detailed documentation of query requests including internal/external customer specifications, expected outcomes, validation methodology, version control, and query parameters. Maintains library of standard queries and provides consultation services to internal business partners about query options.
  • Responsible for the business support and product life cycle of key business applications. Troubleshoots operating issues to ensure prompt resolution of issues resulting in application downtime. Serves as subject matter expert of designated applications for business users.
  • Completes special projects and assignments (such as design reviews, gathering requirements for complex technical projects, mentoring/training staff, etc.)

This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients; Manage difficult or emotional client situations.

Education and/or Experience

BS/BA and 2+ years’ experience in system analysis, systems quality, configuration or data analysis in Healthcare Administration, Third Party Administration, Managed Healthcare or similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills

Strong proficiency with MS Office / Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Outlook to create complex documents, manage schedules, and analyze data. Experience using business applications such as Precis Technologies, AllWorx and other operations systems required following training. Experience creating SQL queries in support of troubleshooting, design and prioritization required for Level II and for Level III.

Work Location

This position must work on-site at the Tempe, Arizona location for purposes of providing adequate support to internal clients; being available for face-to-face interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as for facilitation of quick and effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders. Remote work is not an option for these purposes.

Working Hours

This is a full-time non-exempt position requiring one to be able to work overtime from time to time in order to get the job done. Therefore, one must have the ability to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. This may be changed at any time to meet the needs of the business. The typical working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel

This position requires no travel however attendance maybe required at various local conferences and meetings.
