Maintenance Technician, 1st shift

Location: Wayne, PA (USA)

Onsite (Monday - Friday 7:00AM -3:30PM)

As a Maintenance Technician, and under supervision, you will be called upon to perform any and all duties consistent with assuring that dsm-firmenich products are of consistent and high quality. You will do this by assuming responsibility for set-up, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing tooling and their related equipment while maintaining a clean, secure and safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with electrical, electronics, an EPA certification, experience with freeze dryers and mechanical aptitude. dsm-firmenich Biomedical is the world’s unrivaled biomaterials expert and committed partner in driving sustainable innovation in healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, set up, repair, and maintain new and existing manufacturing tooling and equipment.
  • Develop and update maintenance procedures, as necessary.
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to trouble shoot manufacturing process problems.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering as required.
  • Assist with general facility issues relating to plumbing, HVAC and electrical services to maintain proper working conditions.
  • Maintain non production equipment which supports production.
  • Participate in On-Call Primary & Secondary rotations and utilize the BAS system.
  • Develop vendor relations to provide competitive pricing for parts and supplies.
  • Provide management with periodic reports/prints and updates.

You bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required/ Two-year technical degree preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience required in Electrical, Electronics/PLC and refrigeration. (Medical Device manufacturing or GMP related industry preferred. Also, medical materials/chemical manufacturing strongly preferred)
  • Advanced working knowledge of scope & usage of General Work Permitting Procedures & Processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of plumbing, electrical & HVAC systems.
  • Advanced working knowledge of refrigeration related testing/recovery/charging.
  • Advanced knowledge of VOM, Amperage Meter, Megger & relate electrical testing equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of various power & hand tools; wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Electronic/ PLC controls, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of scope & usage of General Work Permitting Procedures & Processes.
  • Advanced working knowledge of uninterrupted UPS power systems.
  • Proficient data/voice cabling installation, maintenance and repair.
  • Proficient written & oral communication skills + computer literacy.
