Under general supervision, the Supply Chain Associate I receives incoming shipments, unloads, and unpacks shipments and verifies contents with purchase order. Ships outgoing packages with proper return authorization. Delivers storeroom orders sent per inventory control system to departments throughout the facility at intervals established by the Manager. S/he is responsible for the inventory and re-supply of all clinical areas. S/he is responsible for delivery of all supplies shipped to the facility. Maintains storeroom in a clean and orderly condition. Assists in physical inventory

  • Verifies the accuracy of all shipments as they are delivered. Make notation of discrepancies on appropriate paperwork of all shortage, over-shipment or damages to items and/or cartons. Notifies the appropriate parties of any issues or concerns with deliveries.
  • Enters receipts of all supplies and equipment into the materials management information or financial system on a regular basis.
  • Prepares all necessary delivery receipt documents for appropriate department signature and delivery of packages (FedEx, UPS, etc.) to various locations.
  • Prepares all items to be returned and or shipped out of the hospital. Ensures that all packages and paperwork is prepared correctly and insured as needed. Ships items via appropriate methods (i.e., Fed-X, UPS or vendor pick up).
  • Maintains files of all documents related to receiving and distribution of items
  • Puts away supplies in automated cabinets or appropriate stocking locations as required.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of all supply storage locations to include all supply bins and shelving to ensure appropriate product labels are properly placed and reflect current product/manufacturer information.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy through accurate utilization of the inventory management system. Monitor established PAR stock levels for shortages and overages and report any abnormal occurrences promptly
  • Dispenses and delivers products and equipment requested by verbal, written and telephone requisitions.
  • Resolves emergencies related to acquiring and distributing supplies and equipment as needed.

Education/Experience:

  • Education Preferred: High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school, is preferred.
  • Experience Required: 1-2+ years’ Supply Chain or related experience
  • Proficient in usage of Omnicell
  • Must keep abreast of current trends/changes related to technology within healthcare. Experience working in an automated environment

License/Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License
