Position Title Construction Services Lead, Thailand/ Southeast Asia
Thailand - Bangkok Metropolis
The Construction Services Lead, Thailand/ Southeast Asia will be responsible
for developing and growing AECOM’s construction services business within Thailand and supporting growth in adjacent countries such as Myanmar and Vietnam. The incumbent will design and implement a pursuit strategy of sustainable growth in volume and profit, in line with the broader CS SE Asia strategy and leveraging current local and international capability and relationships, within a lean ‘pursuit-and-deliver’ operating business line.
To lead and manage all Project Development (conversion) activities for new work in the EPCM and ‘at risk’ space.
To lead assigned teams through the tender and post tender phases of the project.
Be a safety leader in the organisation
Responsible for the Thailand Construction Services (CS) operating business, driving the growth, strategy and sale of CS in country across PMCM, RSS, EPCM and (where appropriate) ‘At-Risk’ EPC delivery in key market sectors.
Uphold governance framework around the selection criteria for key pursuits, preparing the capture plan, seeking funding approval and commitment.
Manage the pursuit through the Gated AECOM internal approval process within Corporate timeframes.
Develops strategy and marketing plans to achieve regional growth targets for CS in collaboration with the VP CS SE Asia, Thailand Country Director, SE Asia End Market Leaders (EML), Enterprise Client Account Managers (ECAM) and Client Account Managers (CAM) where applicable.
Collaborates closely with AECOM Design Consultancy Services (DCS) to identify revenue and cross-selling opportunities .
Responsible for project and regional CS BU (P&L) performance including project and operating margin achievement, business development spend, cash collection, risk management, client feedback.
Provides input to annual budget, forecast CS business performance, ensure accurate revenue and profit recognition and preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual outlook.
Oversees daily operations of the CS teams including pursuits, project delivery, technical excellence, client satisfaction, staff utilisation, resource deployment, risk management, ethics and compliance, safety, and quality.
Build a sustainable Thailand CS business with a balanced portfolio across both “fee for service” Consultancy and “at-risk” EPCM (EPC) projects.
Provide visible and tangible local leadership by communicating the business strategy and objectives of the organisation and the region.
Responsible for performance management of the local CS staff, employee engagement and recruitment and retention.
Build strong relationships and interact regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders. Provides local industry profile
Lead the development of market intelligence including CS industry assessment, trends and key markets and client opportunities in the region.
Provides guidance and direction to CS SE Asia Leadership Team on potential opportunities, market trends and the promotion of delivery excellence.
Ensures commercial & technical expertise is in place across the project & construction service practices to enable realization of the business strategy.
Support the development of the CS governance business models
Ensure that pursuit, tendering and project execution follows AECOM’s Risk and operational procedures for work winning, scheduling, cost, safety, quality and ethics.
In addition to the above Thailand role:
Regional accountability to support opportunistic growth within the Myanmar and Vietnam CS business sub-regions – together with respective Country Directors.
Support to other SE Asian regions for growth in the CS business
A member of the SE Asia CS management team.
Works closely with DCS leaders and other CS regional leaders to ensure resources for bidding and project delivery are effectively shared across SE Asia.
Leadership, Program Management and management of multiple tenders
Strong relationships with Major MNC’s & Thai clients across the construction industry
Excellent understanding of the Thai contracting landscape and strong industry relationships with industry providers / supply chain.
Proven track record of
Establishing strategic business partnerships with clients and stakeholders
Developing, winning and delivering projects to safety, quality and budget expectations.
One-on-one negotiated deals
Creating sustainable business across various industry sectors
Excellent cross-cultural, cross-functional management skills in a large organization
Preference for key market sector experience within the Industrial sector – of particular interest across Food and Beverage, High Tech, Data, Manufacturing, Automotive, Logistics and Distribution, Chemical and Pharmaceuticals.
Multi-disciplinary infrastructure – power, water / utilities, transport
Real estate – mixed use, commercial, residential, health, leisure
Project or Construction Management professional qualifications and/or engineering degree. 18 years + total experience.
Background in both Project Management / Construction Management (PMCM), EPCM and “At-Risk” (eg EPC) within the construction services space.
Previous experience in leading bids and tendering
