Shift: Days (7:30am-4:00pm)
General Summary
Provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physician according to established Wellspan Oncology Servile Line standards and practices at a beginning or intermediate specialist skills level. Assists with CT-simulation procedures and/or other treatments/procedures as required.
Essential Functions:
- Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients; obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedure.
- Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, patient identification, etc.
- Prepares room and equipment for patient.
- Reinforces recommendations given to patient by the physician, nurses, dietician, etc., concerning reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area, prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects.
- Observes patient for any unusual reactions or events.
- Performs IGRT tumor localization procedures.
- Prepares patient and equipment for, and performs simulation procedures.

Participates in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Completes annual required LMS training as assigned.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Maintains current ARRT certification.
- Maintains appropriate documentation in the EHR as required by the profession and Wellspan Oncology Service Line.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Supervises, assists and evaluates students in the clinical education setting.
- Aids in the training of radiation therapy students.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Associates Degree Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program Required
Work Experience:
- Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required
Licenses:
- Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy - ARRT within 180 days Required and
- Basic Life Support within 180 days Required
Courses and Training:
- Appropriate training in radiation therapy. Upon Hire Required
