Hilltop Holdings is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst (Enterprise Data Specialization) in the PMO (Project Management Office).

The Senior Business Analyst (Enterprise Data Specialization) in the PMO (Project Management Office) is responsible for delivering business value through successful elicitation, prioritization, documentation, and validation of requirements for software implementations and business process improvement efforts that support multiple business lines. This role manages the business and technical requirements, user acceptance testing, training material development and delivery, and assists with facilitation of change management for medium to large projects. From initiation to completion, the Senior Business Analyst is accountable for the business requirements, both general and data-specific, facilitation and delivery of quality project deliverables, and obtaining the appropriate stakeholder reviews and approvals. Critical success factors in this position include experience in data mining, data analysis, system integrations, and process flow mapping at Enterprise and non-enterprise business groups. Data, platforms, and regulation experience with wealth management, banking, or finance industries is desired. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to manage stakeholder expectations, synthesize multiple organizations’ needs into a common requirement package, identify integration opportunities, control project scope, assist with facilitating business change management and communications, and escalate project risks and issues. This role will work on multiple projects at a time with varying levels of complexity.

  • Effectively elicit, document, prioritize, validate, and align business and technical requirements with project goals and objectives for complex IT and business process projects ensuring scope management and collaboration with sponsors, team members, and cross-functional experts
  • Effectively foster dialogue and capture IT and Business requirements to support project milestones.
  • Translate conversations into rich visuals illustrating business process flows, data diagrams, and requirement understanding
  • Foster productive working relationships and manage expectations with business & technical team members and project stakeholders
  • Coach/mentor less experienced business analysts in alignment with Hilltop’s standards and best practices
  • Define the necessary data movement pathways and Transformation rules (ETL logic) needed to accomplish inter-system data sharing, reporting, and/or dashboarding
  • Participate in creation of technical documentation, including but not limited to Technical Design Documentation, Source-to-Target Mappings, Data Flow Documents, and other requirements-related artifacts for user stories
  • Influence and validate technical designs to the functional requirements and business use cases captured in user stories, features, and epics surrounding the project
  • Translate business vs technical concepts to cross-functional team members, both internal and external (contactor or vendor), in order to achieve project goals
  • Use SQL or other data management tools for advanced querying, extraction and analysis of scalable, complex data sets
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for process improvements, leveraging actionable insights derived from KPIs, metrics, etc.
  • Lead requirement reviews and facilitate approvals with project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with developers and 3rd party providers to ensure understanding of the requirements and assist with issue resolution and root cause analysis
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing from creation of test scripts, stakeholder participation and completion through traceability and integration with quality assurance for tracking and validation of remediation
  • Develop training and change management materials and facilitate training as appropriate for the project
  • Ensure assigned project deliverables and milestones are completed on-time, within budget, and meet quality standards
  • Organize BA work across multiple projects in order to achieve project delivery expectations and business benefits
  • Escalate risks and issues promptly to the project manager
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and training of business analysis methodologies, techniques, best practices, and organizational standards
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to report to Hilltop Securities Tower @ 717 Harwood Street, Dallas, without the need for relocation assistance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience or education
  • Must have strong, independent data analytical skills to drive data process flow mapping, data recon remediation, and architecture design models
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Lucid Chart/Spark and/or Visio, Azure DevOps, Balsamiq
  • Proficient using data & visualization tools such as SQL and Power BI
  • 5+ years of experience developing business requirements for vendor implementation, software development, and infrastructure deployment projects of varying complexity
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload for multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Proven ability delivering business requirements within multiple delivery frameworks to include Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid models
  • Fluent in application programming, database design, and technical architecture
  • Experience identifying business process improvements and managing the training and change management associated with the implementation
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting business problems, identify resolution options, open a line of discussion w/ partners and stakeholders to drive consensus on an action
  • Strong leadership, organization, and relationship management skills; demonstrated ability to lead through influence
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external business partners
  • Facilitate meetings and present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Process-oriented self-starter with strong attention to detail and works well in a team environment
  • Experienced in identifying and monitoring technical and operational risks
  • International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA) Certification preferred
  • Financial Services industry experience preferred
