The Temporary Employee Relations Specialist plays a critical role in fostering a positive and productive work environment. This position conducts impartial investigations into employee concerns such as harassment, discrimination, and workplace misconduct. The Employee Relations Specialist also provides guidance and support to employees and managers on a range of workplace issues, including performance concerns, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and navigating employee relations matters. In addition, this role may involve some administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, preparing reports, and assisting with other HR projects as needed.

Primary stakeholders: Front Line Staff and Front Line Managers

Additional Assignment Details:

  • Full-time temporary role with an expected assignment duration of 5 months.
  • Pay starting at $33/hr.
  • Candidates must reside within driving distance to Baltimore, MD for occasional on-site meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Conflict Resolution: Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and workplace conflicts, ensuring fairness and adherence to company policies and labor laws
  • Performance Management: Provide guidance to managers on handling performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations in alignment with internal policies and labor laws.
  • Conduct thorough and confidential investigations into allegations of misconduct, harassment, or discrimination.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on topics such as conflict resolution, workplace ethics, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, and EEO regulations.
  • Analyze trends in employee relations issues to identify patterns and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all employee relations cases to mitigate risk and support decision-making.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture by facilitating communication and fostering employee engagement initiatives.
  • Administrative and operational support as regionally required or needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5+ years’ Administrative or Human Resources experience
  • Travel: 15%
