Job Summary
Perform work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment. All job duties apply to overhead and underground equipment and facilities. The Line Mechanic C builds upon the skills, abilities and knowledge learned as a Line Mechanic D (or equivalent).

What you'll do:
Installation and Maintenance: Assemble, install, maintain, remove, and competently inspect overhead and underground facilities, including conductors, cables, transformers, fixtures, structures, and other associated equipment under immediate or general supervision, based on skill level.
Equipment Installation: Build and erect equipment mountings, such as regulator and transformer platforms, and construct overhead transformer installations.
Switching Procedures: Conduct proper tagging procedures while switching energized circuits.
Inspection and Troubleshooting: Perform inspections and troubleshoot lines.
Additional Duties: Perform similar or less skilled work as assigned.
Supervision: Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.
Documentation: Complete Monthly Apprentice Cards and submit them to local supervision for review. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications: Candidates must have performed the duties of and possess all qualifications of Line Mechanic D or an equivalent position. Qualification will be determined through demonstration, examination, and/or performance appraisal as established by the Company.
Knowledge and Skills Development: Candidates must demonstrate the ability and willingness to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills required for the key job (Line Mechanic A) within this job family. Qualification will be assessed through demonstration, examination, and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company.
Progression Requirements: Candidates must acquire the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of the next higher classification in the line of progression within a timeframe established by the Company, or vacate the current job classification.
Physical Abilities Assessment: A physical abilities assessment is required for this position.

Compensation Range:
$33.61-34.73 USD
The Physical Demand Level for this job is: H – Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
