Commensurate with experience
Director, Information Security, Vulnerability Management and Monitoring reports to the Assistant Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer. Primary role will be supporting the duties of the Information Security Office, specifically vulnerability scanning and monitoring, and mentoring junior security analysts to increase security knowledge and skills. Candidate should be familiar with fundamental concepts of security architecture and design, identity management, risk assessment, compliance, application security, community outreach, PCI-DSS and security awareness training. Expected to assist in projects, conduct vulnerability assessments and represent the logical and physical security interests for the University's information systems and electronic information assets in a variety of settings. Participate in departmental on call rotation and perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited US educational institution in information systems, computer science, or related field. Master’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field preferred. Note: An Associate's degree and six (6) years progressively responsible related experience providing information security in an enterprise environment may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
Four (4) years progressively responsible full time work experience providing information security in an enterprise environment.
CISSP
Previous work as an Information Security Systems Security or Network Administrator or experience configuring and administering firewalls, enterprise vulnerability management tools, enterprise protection suite tools, such as Sophos Central Endpoint protection, MS Security suite, Splunk, Wireshark, or EnCase Forensic tools. Experience in Linux administration, Windows server and MacOS operating systems preferred.
