MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1) Continual walking, standing, reaching, and upper extremity use, 2)Frequent bending, twisting, climbing (stairs and ladders), squatting and kneeling, 3) Occasional pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with assistance, 4)Work schedule is 8 hours, days, evenings or nights, weekends and holidays, 5) Ability to work outside in inclement weather and inside in extreme temperature variations, 6) Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment as outlined further in this section 7) Ability to install equipment as required for capital projects 8) Perform preventative maintenance checks as assigned 9)Perform any necessary documentation as required 10) Train subordinates/peers within the work environment, 11) Respond as appropriate to a plant upset and/or emergency situation, 12) Medically fit to wear a respirator, 13) Ability to drive and operate a fork truck, 14) and other various duties as assigned.
B. Other responsibilities/accountabilities (marginal functions):
This position may require the management of hazardous waste, which may include, but is not limited to, making waste determinations, profiling waste with TSDF, labeling hazardous waste containers, container management (e.g. inspections), and release clean up/emergency response.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The following knowledge and proficiency skills are required for this position to be acquired through a minimum of a High school diploma/GED.
Possess 5-7 years of industrial/manufacturing verifiable maintenance experience.
Additional education and training to support experience is a plus to include any certificates of safety training.
Have good communication and teamwork skills and the ability to interact/work with other departments.
Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to trouble shoot/repair plant equipment.
Must have the ability to follow detailed instructions and to use shop equipment and tools.
Work with minimal supervision and be able to work with changing priorities.
Knowledge of the following is required: Pipe specs, mechanic tools, bearing heater operation, boilers and operation theory, refrigeration theory, RTO design, HVAC systems and all aspects of plant security
This position requires the use of respiratory protective equipment. You must be able to medically qualified to wear the correct personal protective equipment. This requires being clean shaven, and have an annual qualification physical.

The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
