The Cash Application Rep Sr is responsible for ensuring that the daily bank file imports into Electronic Health Recording as expected. Monitors un-posted cash to resolve any outstanding payment issues to ensure timely posting of payments by the Cash Team. Performs required actions within Electronic Health Recording System for credit card chargebacks and insufficient bank items received by Finance. Investigates and works items in clearing accounts & cash review Workqueue. Research discrepancies related to cash receipts/postings and assists in resolution. Also serves as a liaison between the Revenue Cycle & Finance Department staff & leadership, Clearinghouse and Bank Lockbox staff.

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
  • Requires 3 year of experience in cash posting, follow up or related revenue cycle.
  • Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
  • Advanced and accurate typing and data entry skills are essential.
  • Ability to proficiently read and interpret payer explanation of benefits and distinguish various components required for accurate insurance payment posting.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in duties in a high volume, fast paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage large volumes of cash receipt activity.
  • Completes work with a limited degree of supervision.
  • Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new, less obvious solutions.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Excel in order to update worksheets to summarize cash application activity.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical skills and ability to perform non‑complex arithmetic calculations.
  • The ability to function effectively in a team environment and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, patients, leadership, staff, and other customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Normal office environment where there is no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high risk body fluids.
  • Hospital or large practice setting experience preferred.
  • Epic experience is strongly preferred.
