This strategic leadership position will manage the overall operations of the practice, ensuring a vision and strategy for future growth. The Practice Manager II also provides expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. The Practice Manager II is able to remedy most patient complaints at the time of occurrence and escalates to Practice Administrator when necessary. The Practice Manager II is responsible for upholding the Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group (CCSG) code of conduct, compliance, and vision and values of CCSG.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops vision for practice and executes plans to achieve vision. Responsible for establishing criteria, formulating projects/initiatives, owns executing on the projects/initiatives and assessing effectiveness of results.
  • Identifies strategy for growth and executes plans to achieve growth goals.
  • Managing the flow of the clinic to insure compliance, efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Problem solving and addressing issues raised by physicians, employees, and patients
  • Marketing the practice in the local community
  • Responsible for carrying out all established policies.
  • Full Profit and Loss responsibility of the physician practice, including revenue, expenses and budgeting.
  • Mentoring the Practice Manager I with individual growth and individual accountability to improve career track goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs, supervises and coaches front office and clinical staff daily.
  • Mentors the clinic staff for the development of new skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent is preferred.

  • Experience Required: Minimum three to five years of leadership or management experience in a medical office is required. Proven track record in growing physician practice revenues and volumes. Physician Practice marketing expertise with a variety of tactics to grow and develop business.

Experience Preferred: Experience with multiple providers, staff, and specialties is preferred. Experience with Electronic Medical Record Systems is highly preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Broad knowledge of all relevant organizational relationships and partnerships within the organization.
  • Organization of policies, procedures, systems, and objectives.
  • Responsibility of Compliance Systems.
  • Fiscal management and human resource management techniques.
  • Accounting systems, insurance billing and collecting, and budgeting processes.

SKILLS:

  • Planning, organizing, and supervising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication is required
  • Exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public

ABILITY TO:

  • Counsel/discipline personnel as requested or as may become necessary.
  • Delegate authority, responsibility to other staff personnel as deemed necessary to perform assigned duties.
  • Effectively influence others to adopt a course of action on critical, complex or sensitive information
  • Handle information in a confidential manner.
  • Work in a fast paced environment

Special Consideration/Requirement for all SCAN OVS Grant Associated Team Members:

  • Ability to successfully pass the required background checks that will be conducted every 5 years.
