What you will do:
- Measure, cut, and assemble fireproof doors according to specifications and safety regulations
- Operate machinery (saws, drills, presses, welding equipment) for door fabrication.
- Apply fire-resistant materials and ensure compliance with fire safety ratings and certifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and compliance with industry and company standards
- Perform repairs and modifications on fire-rated doors as necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace, adhering to company and OSHA safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and assist with warehouse duties as assigned
- Assist with inventory management and report material shortages
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on industry standards and fabrication techniques
What you will bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in carpentry, metalworking, or a related field is a plus
- Previous experience in door manufacturing, construction, or a similar trade preferred
- Experience in door fabrication, woodworking, metalworking, or a related field preferred
- Familiarity with fire-rated door manufacturing standards (e.g., NFPA 80) is a plus
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, measurements, and specifications
- Skilled in using power tools and fabrication equipment with strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Team-oriented approach with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new fabrication techniques
