Employment Type: Part-time (15 - 20 hrs. per week)

Reports to: Facilities Director

FLSA: Non-exempt

Pay Rate: $17.25 – 18.75 per hour, depending on experience

Position Summary:

The Facilities Attendant ensures that the OLMC facilities are kept clean and proper event set-ups are performed to support ministries and parish functions. Acts as a church contact for activities held on the OLMC campus.

Principal Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Open the church and facilities and make campus ready for weekend use
  • Perform set-ups according to the church facilities calendar
  • Prepare coffee, receive and distribute donuts on Sunday after 8:00am and 9:45 Mass
  • Cleaning and preparing the campus includes hall, discipleship center, offices, church and church grounds for faith formation and other parish activities as needed
  • Clean and restock all bathrooms in the hall, discipleship center, and church
  • Light cleaning of hall, discipleship center, offices, church, and church grounds including carpets and floors as needed
  • Empty trashcans and recycling throughout the campus when closing down for the night
  • Lock and secure the entire campus each evening on shift

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

  • The Facilities Attendant will be capable of identifying and handling maintenance issues.
  • Must have at least 1 years’ experience in a janitorial and maintenance related field and be well versed in parish operations
  • Display discretion and ensure confidentiality of work undertaken.
  • Have knowledge of routine facility cleaning requirements.
  • Possess a good understanding of how to clean facility and perform general set ups.
  • Be familiar with cleaning chemicals and the proper handling, usage, and disposal of chemicals
  • Have effective communication skills and work well with staff and parishioners

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and climb ladders. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the Parish facility. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations. The employee must be able to perform moderate to heavy manual labor, including frequent bending, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
