Princeton University Investment Company (Princo) is widely recognized as an innovative leader in the investment management industry. We manage Princeton University’s $34 billion Endowment through a global network of investment firms that span both traditional and alternative asset classes such as public equities, private equity and venture capital, hedge funds, and real estate. Princo staff consists of approximately 50 individuals who conduct activities across investment, operations, technology, and administrative functions. Princo is organizationally distinct from the University, but members of Princo staff are University employees subject to Princeton University policies and procedures.
Princo’s office is located one block from campus, in downtown Princeton.
Position Overview
Princo is seeking to hire a Director of Investment Talent. This position will play a key role in providing Princo with human resource (HR) leadership and talent acquisition and development strategy for its investment, investment operations, investment technology and administrative staff. This includes oversight of recruitment, investment compensation plans, training and development, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and performance management in alignment with University HR policies and coordination with central HR.
To be successful, the Director must fully understand Princo’s business needs, drivers, strategies, goals, and expectations, and provide thoughtful leadership and guidance on talent management and organizational effectiveness, in collaboration with the Princo President, Princo senior leadership, and University HR partners, drawing upon University resources, campus partner offices and practices as applicable.
This position will have a dual reporting line; reporting directly to Princo’s Managing Director of Operations, Administration and Technology, with a dotted line to the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources Client Services, Princeton University as well. The role will require independent judgement and decision-making, and a collaborative operating style.
This position has one direct report to provide administrative support.

The successful candidate will have a record of demonstrable success in prior HR related work experience, which may include roles in talent management, organizational development, and/or recruitment. In depth knowledge of current human resources principles, best practices, and trends is required, as well as the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and integrity. Personal fit within a dynamic team is essential.
A minimum of 7 years of related or relevant work experience is required. Experience within the finance or broader business sector, particularly investment management.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Master’s degree and/or professional certification (e.g. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP) is strongly preferred.
