UCLA Health is seeking a dynamic Program Manager to support the Managed Care Operations team. This role is instrumental in overseeing the execution of key initiatives across departments including Quality Management, Appeals & Grievances, Credentialing, Member Services, Provider Relations, and Compliance. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, you'll lead operational projects, coordinate process improvements, and drive performance monitoring efforts.

This position involves high-level collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring timely execution of deliverables, compliance with health plan requirements, and the implementation of cross-functional solutions that support strategic and financial goals.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee project planning, execution, and performance monitoring for departmental programs and initiatives; coordinate task completion across functional teams.
  • Lead regulatory change implementation, mock audits, policy development, and internal quality reviews to support readiness and compliance.
  • Analyze data and reporting trends to identify performance gaps and recommend process improvements; develop tools and documentation to support resolution.
  • Manage communication strategies, project timelines, CRM process enhancements, and testing efforts in partnership with system and operations teams.
  • Evaluate and improve current workflows, lead stakeholder meetings, and track project milestones while keeping leadership informed of progress and risks.
  • Stay current on industry regulations, support UAT initiatives, and participate in strategic planning related to managed care operations.

Salary Range: $83,800 – $179,400 annually

Qualifications

We’re looking for a strong, organized program leader with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing healthcare projects or programs (IPA, medical group, or health plan setting preferred), required.
  • Experience with health plan operations, project management, policy implementation, and data reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Visio, EPIC, Tapestry, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Ability to lead process improvements, track KPIs, and manage strategic initiatives across teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with all organizational levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Experience coordinating audits, regulatory compliance, and internal performance improvement efforts.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into documentation, workflows, and test plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and maintain strong working relationships with technical and non-technical teams.
