1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Key Activities of the role

  • Act as point of contact for the management of internal clients such as Web and Interactive Marketing, World Wide Sales, Reservations and Customer Care, Channel Integration, Americas Sales and Finance, Loyalty Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Revenue Management
  • Develop highly complex data extracts using SQL and ensure requirements are developed in accordance with specified business and technical requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with DRM/GSM management and develop a strong working knowledge of the all of the business functional area‘s objectives in order to ensure accurate translation of client requirements into technical specifications and reporting.
  • Establish project plans that outline project milestones for different Business Analytics projects. Convene cross-functional teams to deliver projects
  • Provide ad hoc query support to all Business Analytics clients.
  • Apply analytical techniques to one or more disciplines. May perform statistical analyses and create accurate charts, tables and graphs in the correct format and within established time frames as required. Select and use appropriate software to effectively analyze data. Compile and analyze information. Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to appropriate staff.

2. Required Qualifications

Required Skills –

  • Demonstrated computing and database reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated programming experience with statistical and database software (SQL Server, SAS, Business Objects, and RDBMS).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Visual Basic scripting techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel functionality to include the use of macros to streamline report-publishing process.
  • Demonstrated experience in a decision-support and data warehousing environment.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of business analysis processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of internal clients’ processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hotel operations and the hotel industry, and demonstrated ability to access relevant information and understand the competitive market.
  • Demonstrates clear, concise, and succinct communication skills, including adapting both technical verbal and written communication to the needs and level of the user.

Qualifications –

Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a concentration in Statistics, Mathematics , Operations Research, Marketing or other related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Experience –

5 years progressive work related experience working within a business intelligence team and with relational decision-support databases and analytical consulting with demonstrated proficiency and understanding in one or more functions related to the position, preferably in a management position
