Associate Director Manufacturing Exton is responsible for Process Development and Engineering at the Exton site, which provides automation, equipment, tooling and manufacturing expertise, approvals and oversight for capital items being placed into a Biomedical manufacturing environment for new or existing products. You’ll manage the Manufacturing Excellence initiatives for Overall Equipment and Process Effectiveness (OEE) and Improve Equipment Reliability (IER). This position reports to the Exton Site Leader.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing and equipment capabilities guidance related to 1) New Business Development activities; 2) Venturing & partnership activities; 3) Merger & Acquisition activities 4) Business Operational Strategy (BOS)
  • Develop a strong internal network that optimizes relationships and builds synergies with innovation partners, marketing staff, business intelligence, R&D, Commercialization, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Operations.
  • Manage and evaluate Contract Assembly and Packaging opportunities through customer interaction, as well as, quote generation, supply agreements and negotiations. Provide continual support to customer through product life cycle.
  • Provide management oversight to teams that develop new prototype and pilot processes for new product development projects and/or support manufacturing transfer projects
  • Lead management and tracking of CAPEX spend for Innovation related equipment and tools.
  • Implement infrastructure and culture of statistical & process control techniques, robust data collection & analysis, and usage of design of experiments to create robust and repeatable processes and achievable process specifications

You bring

  • Minimum 12 years of engineering experience in the medical device industry required
  • Experience leading engineers and/or a team a plus
  • Strong project management experience with ability to apply Project Management techniques according to PMP. PMP certification a plus
  • Expert knowledge and experience working with manufacturing machinery and tooling in a medical device environment or related industry
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with Engineering & Quality tools (Statistics, Lean Six Sigma, DFM, DOE)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required
