Job Description:

Description: The primary purpose of the Interior Planning and Design Manager is to provide for the supervision, management, execution and coordination of design standards throughout the network including capital projects. This includes assisting the Executive Director with creating and governing standards including but not limited to signage/wayfinding, interior finishes, artwork, and non-medical furniture ensuring applicable compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies. This position is also responsible for directing professional consultants in the support of projects as assigned by the Executive Director of Planning/Design/Construction (PDC).

Typical Duties:

1. Develops and maintains an up-to-date system-wide solution-based interior standards library.
2. Develops and maintains non-medical equipment and furniture specifications and standards.
3. Works closely with contracted vendors and project managers on construction plans for all approved PDC projects assuring selections meet regulatory requirements, JPS standards and user needs.
4. Develops and maintains signage and wayfinding specifications, standards, and manages associated projects.
5. Manages the work of professional consultants and the associated contractual processes on assigned projects.
6. Reviews proposals and makes recommendations for furniture, fixtures and non-medical equipment.
7. Manages interior renovation projects and adheres to deadlines of key deliverables.
8. Verifies specifications and standards against project plans before construction documents are released.
9. Develops, maintains and manages detailed project documentation including electronic records of key decisions and notes from PDC design meetings.
10. Prepares interior’s specific progress reports on all active projects.
11. Participates in learning opportunities and continuing education programs to expand knowledge of professional discipline.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in interior design from an accredited program.
• 8 plus years’ professional practice experience in healthcare interior design project management to include 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Preferred Education and Experience:
• One of the following: Registered Interior Designer in the State of Texas, Architect in the State of Texas or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
• 10 plus years’ professional practice experience in healthcare interior design project management.
• Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Licensed Interior Designer in the State of Texas or obtain license within 18 months of hire date.
• Current State of Texas driver’s license.
• Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• AutoCAD training
