Description

The Fragrance Evaluator & Sensory Researcher plays a key role in the development and assessment of perfumes and scented products. The position will provide technical perfumery support to co-create, ideate and incubate with Fragrance Houses, internal partners and external partners to create breakthrough innovations with the Estee Lauder Companies’ portfolio of brands.

As part of the ground-breaking Atelier team and fragrance Product Development organization, this role will be in service of the global brands, contributing to end-to-end fragrance support, boosting product innovation, driving go-to-market speed & agility, and enhance artisanal quality of ELC products. This individual will bring new fragrance capabilities to the enterprise as we grow and develop in this category.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Support fragrance evaluation activities between Upstream Innovation and New Product Launch (NPL).
  • Responsible for assessing fragrance (or related products’) performance and quality, and running sensory/consumer panels.
  • Lead technical qualification of the fragrance innovation programs.
  • Provide assurance of technical readiness pre-launch.
  • Conduct stability on raw materials and new innovative technologies.
  • Generate specifications for fragrance oils and finished products.
  • Provide odor evaluation on raw materials and finished products to support new development.
  • Establish fragrance sensory methods for different product types
  • Manage proprietary evaluation test and olfactive consumer panels

Qualifications

  • College Degree Required, graduate from ISIPCA or similar school, with 2+ years of experience and proven track record in successful launch of fragrances.
  • OR 2-3 years fragrance development experience either working for a key luxury and / or prestige fragrance brand and /or for a global fragrance house.
  • Technical rigor and attention to detail (process, record keeping, fragrance raw materials management)
  • Independent and self-motivated, pro-active
  • Good level in English for daily communication, and emails is a plus
