As Research & Development Laboratory Technician VIE in our Research and Development team you will be trained in entering biosamples of all kinds in the database, reviewing of entries from other colleagues and will be working closely together with our automation people to search for solutions or better ways to get the biosamples in the system. You will also learn how to perform protein conjugation

Main responsibilities:

  • Chemical conjugation of probes/payloads to NANOBODY® molecules.
  • Enzymatic conjugation of probes/payloads to NANOBODY® molecules.
  • Enzymatic fusion of NANOBODY® molecules.
  • Optimization of a screening workflow: evaluate readouts like by Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate-Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), Western blot, mass spectrometry analysis.
  • Purification of NANOBODY® conjugates by liquid chromatography (AKTA).
  • Data interpretation, drawing a conclusion, and defining next steps.
  • Material registration and data reporting in relevant digital tools.
  • Register scientific data and research materials in scientific databases.
  • Support optimization of digital tools for material registration.
  • Routine support activities to help scientists (controlled rate freezing of cells, QC of cell banking after freezing).
  • Support in maintaining the database of all (bio)-samples received within the department (including registration of samples and enhance workflows of this registration (automation)).

About you

Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with protein purification and analysis of proteins by SDS-PAGE and/or mass spectrometry is a plus.
  • Previous experience in laboratory would be considered as an asset.

Soft and Technical skills:

  • High interest in working with proteins and/or in this field.
  • Good sense for initiative, quality, accuracy, and detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, Industrial Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical sciences or related.

Languages:

  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
