The Senior Analyst, Data Analytics and Data Science is a key member of JM Family’s AI Center of Excellence (COE), a cross-functional team that delivers data-driven solutions to enhance business decision-making and innovation. The Senior Analyst supports the operations of JM Family’s COE by coordinating the COE’s efforts for maximum value. This requires developing a deep understanding of JM Family’s various operating businesses to support the evaluation of AI use cases, developing strong relationships with stakeholders both within the COE and throughout the COE’s constituent organizations, and executing a variety of critical tasks that include value case refinement, resource tracking, KPI management, re-usability assessments, and stakeholder enablement. The Senior Analyst collaborates with a team of data scientists, solutions delivery managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to take an opportunity or use case from concept to a scaled solution. The Senior Analyst may perform advanced analytics, prompt engineering, and assist in translating data into actionable business recommendations. The Senior Analyst may contribute to the development and implementation of data processing workflows and complex machine learning models. The Senior Analyst directs and communicates the design and execution of data analysis, from data collection to interpretation of results, and stays updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and data science.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of data scientists, solutions delivery managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to take an opportunity or use case from concept to a scaled solution
  • Support the identification of AI initiatives across BUs and BU IT, and maintain the inventory of AI products through the lifecycle from idea, to deployed product, to retirement
  • Manage the process for evaluating AI use cases according to their value and feasibility, including build vs. buy evaluations
  • Document and socialize the Artificial Intelligence Ops process with COE and BU IT Teams 
  • Provide Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) guidance to support BU IT Teams
  • Track the allocation and work of COE resources across AI projects managed by BUs and BU IT, and support the COE lead in effectively deploying COE resources to meet the evolving needs of various projects
  • Gather the information required to calculate COE KPIs, and create/deliver reports to the Steering Committee and Executive Leadership
  • Promote re-usability of the COE’s processes and technology by identifying, cataloging, supporting the development of, and advancing the usage of relevant processes, technical assets, and use case approaches across COE deliveries
  • Develop the relevant communications and training plans required to enable JM Family Associates and partners to effectively use AI assets
  • Assist others to capture, wrangle, merge, analyze and profile complex data to create scalable solutions that generate business insights
  • Perform analytics, prompt engineering, and advanced analytics and assist in translating data into actionable business recommendations
  • Develop and improve data processing workflows
  • May develop and implement complex machine learning models through generative AI or using other Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Lead and communicate design and execution of data analysis, from data collection to interpretation of results
  • Collaborate with business leaders to define data strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts in their projects and career growth
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation
  • May present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through analytical storytelling
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and data science
  • Build trust and drive business adoption by demystifying solution intricacies for stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in data analytics and data science
  • Experience utilizing and prompt engineering solutions using generative AI tools, public GPT solutions, and Large Language Models
  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline
  • Must be able to direct others to solve complex problems, work independently, and lead functional teams/projects
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Advanced analytics skills, including machine learning, are desirable
  • Strong data visualization skills
  • Developed communication and consulting skills
  • Ability to apply analytics across a range of data and business scenarios
  • Broad understanding of analytical techniques and technologies
  • Knowledge to implement data and analytics workflows and deployment processes
  • Experience with data platforms and tools (cloud systems, relational or NoSQL databases, data analysis and visualization software)
  • Experience with analytical programming to develop scripts and visualization
