General Purpose and Scope of the position: Tutors are needed for Anatomy and Physiology, for the Columbus Service Area which includes Columbus, Franklin, and Shelbyville. The job will be in Shelbyville and will require some Zoom tutoring. Provides individualized and group tutoring to college students in Anatomy and Physiology courses in a manner that helps students become independent successful learners.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain consistency in availability to provide small group and one-on-one tutoring services to meet the demands and needs of students.
  • Define and follow through with each student on stated objectives and tutoring goals.
  • Provides tutoring in Developmental and General Education courses as needed.
  • Teaches and assists students in the use of computer software as needed.
  • Maintains, guides, and instructs students in the use of software programs and supplemental materials directly related to courses.
  • Teaches and encourages all students to utilize study skills and other college success techniques.
  • Operates computers, printers, and other hardware and business machines.
  • Ability to work independently or on team with other tutors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $15/hour

Schedule: Based on student needs and candidate availability. Maximum of 20 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of content area being taught through prior course work or work experience. Possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse student body.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include a degree in related area with previous tutoring or teaching experience.
