What to Expect

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the company’s growing Chassis Engineering operational needs. Applicants must be highly organized and confident in their ability to streamline processes and create standardized systems. The individual filling this role will be responsible for tracking our newest designs and implementations while consolidating multiple teams’ internal resources and documents. Additional responsibilities will include scheduling and familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Thinkcell, CAD, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The Chassis Engineering department is responsible for steering, suspension, wheels, tires, brakes, subframes, and driveline components for all our vehicle programs.

This position is based in the Tesla Palo Alto office at 3000 Hanover Street.

What You’ll Do

  • Track launch readiness for all Chassis components for a given vehicle
  • Share design status/program health with executive leadership while keeping engineers up to date on milestones and scope changes
  • Communicate freeze dates with cross-functional teams to ensure program milestones are met
  • Coordinate component sourcing in partnership with Global Supply Managers, New Product Introduction, Supplier Industrialization Engineers, etc.
  • Work with global test teams to ensure validation is executed in time for start of production
  • Engage with suppliers to develop solutions for timing challenges
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing teams to implement process improvements, track design and production change actions, and work cross functionally to introduce running changes

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years of Technical Project/Program Management experience
  • High level understanding of CAD, BOM management, Change management
  • Demonstrate excellence in organizational skill, time management, and creativity, performed in dynamic work environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to have a problem-solving mindset and passion to oversee a project from concept to implementation
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to articulate complex information in a straightforward way
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in an extremely fast-paced environment and work independently as well as in a team environment

Expected Compensation

$88,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
