The candidate will be part of the Eurosport Accounting team – responsible of accounting duties of all Eurosport activity within Discovery Group.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Eurosport Controller Production Costs/ Services, General & Administration, the person performs the following tasks:

  1. Prepare timely, high-quality workpapers that support the preparation and/or review of journal entries, compliant with established internal controls
  2. Verify accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of accounting entries, through the preparation and/or review of journal entries and account reconciliations. 
  3. Analyse, interpret, and apply accounting standards in US GAAP and FR GAAP
  4. Prepare monthly, quarterly, or annual financial reports for both Eurosport and Discovery Group
  5. Prepare variance analysis to support both finance management team and business
  6. Comply with group policies and SOX narratives
  7. Improve and update working processes

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Ideally 3 years’ experience as corporate accountant in a listed company

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles and theory
  • Fluent in English (Working language)
  • Excel expert
  • Agility with financial systems (SAP and EPM knowledge will be a plus)

  • Rigorous and reliable, safeguarding the use of sensitive/confidential information
  • Pragmatic and analytical skills
  • Working both independently and as part of a team, providing constructive feedback and initiating action
  • Good in communication, building effective working network with other departments
