About the Unit

The Finance Director plays a pivotal role in Asia-Pacific Cluster, overseeing & co-developing the Strategy & Transformation agenda. The role provides, through sold business analysis, a proactive decision support basis for the SVP Asia- Pacific.

Responsibilities

Strategy, Transformation and Planning:

  • Lead change management initiatives, instilling rigor and executional certainty for strategy delivery in the cluster.
  • In close collaboration with Singapore finance team, drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Identify and prepare investment proposals supporting Yara’s ambition of Growing a Nature-Positive Food Future
  • Monitor and assess performance outcomes, identify corrective actions where necessary and motivate the adoption of changes across the organization to drive performance and productivity improvements.
  • Lead engagement with stakeholders across YAA on overcoming barriers to change, addressing fixed mindsets and counterproductive approaches.

Decision Support:

  • Support projects, develops business cases, and business development initiatives.
  • Support and challenge planning and optimization process to secure profitable growth and optimal pricing, product allocation and working capital.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to help improve business performance and support informed decision-making.
  • Continuous performance monitoring of short- and long-term objectives ensuring that all action plans are followed, and corrective measures based on learnings initiated.

Financial Operations Leadership:

  • Support the finance and accounting teams in the Cluster, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Enable a culture of continuous improvement with the country finance departments to simplify and improve processes.
  • Develop country Finance Manager in increasing an overall focus on decision support.

Profile

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience in Strategy, Finance, Business Development, or Transformation with significant people management experience. 
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Background from top-tier management consultancy is an advantage.
  • English (fluent written and verbal) skills are necessary. Additional Asian languages are an advantage.
  • Higher university degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or Economics. Master of Business Administration is a plus. Long relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
  • Change Management and influencing experience in large corporate projects.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to think holistically to "see the big picture".
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence.
  • Cross-culture competence, with the ability to build, manage and motivate teams across different cultural boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, connecting with all levels of the organization.
  • Drive to challenge established practices and processes when relevant/needed.
  • Positive to work and travel in an international and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
