Job Title: Software Engineer – Principal (Multiple Positions)

Duties: Perform requirements with high-value solutions within the product portfolio. Provide recommendations to director, product managers and senior leaders to identify, prioritize, and deliver resource estimations and utilizations. Influence and support the decision-making for various aspects such as strategic investments, innovation programs, project cost and resource identifications. Influence the technical direction and promote innovation through technology by applying latest software trends and techniques. Provide direction on the overall architecture of the PMI and NX MBD product areas. Provide project leadership within the PMI and NX MBD product areas. Perform requirements analysis of various customer and product management inputs to define functional content for various deliverables of the PMI and NX MBD product areas. Collaborate on MBD projects. Engage with customers through direct customer interaction (on-site visits, Teams meetings, etc.) as well as through close collaboration with product managers. Propose and develop high-value solutions within the product portfolio. Collaborate with third parties to fulfill architectural and project requirements. Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements. Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems or needs. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.

Requirements: The employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 96 months of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer related occupation. The position requires experience in the following: Working with digital twin practices based on Model Based Definition (MBD) and Model Based Engineering (MBE); Working with Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI), Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T) and their application within MBD and MBE; Applying international standards for Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI) and Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T); Performing requirement analysis to categorize feedback from customers and other stakeholders to finalize scope of deliverable; Working within the software life cycle and other life cycle methodologies including Agile; Programming in C++, Python and JAVA; Defining, communicating, and implementing high- and low-level system architecture; Performing application integration and deployment. Telecommuting is permitted. 5% domestic and international travel required.
