About the role:

As our Acquisition Integrations Manager, you will be responsible for accounting/finance pre & post-close activities of mergers and acquisitions. This position will be responsible for representing our accounting team throughout the M&A process, working with cross department business leaders and functional accounting teams to ensure a seamless integration into the Aptean finance and accounting department.

This position will be responsible for representing Finance & Accounting throughout the M&A transition process, working with cross-department business leaders and functional accounting teams to ensure a seamless integration into the Aptean process (HR, Corp Development, M&A, Legal, Facilities, and Renewals).

  • The Manager on the FAI team will be responsible for leading accounting related, post-close activities of acquired entities.
  • Oversight & approval of legacy financial accounting data mapping to Aptean Financial Systems – Chart of Accounts, Subledger details, and historical data.
  • Align historical financial data to the Quality of Earnings and identify deviations from US GAAP and apply adjustments.
  • Responsible for reviewing, mapping, and uploading post-acquisition actual financial data from the acquiree.
  • Lead data load requirements meeting with the acquiring company – Sub ledger (AP, AR), Vendor, COGs, Deferred Revenue Waterfall, etc.
  • Ensures all acquired Company monthly financials are reported timely and accurately.
  • Partner with cross-functional finance leads to analyze historical and actual financial data.
  • Lead finance cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve acquisition issues.
  • Assess areas of risk associated with integrating all Finance/Accounting activities to Aptean systems/processes. (Billing/AP/AR/Treasury/Financial Reporting/FP&A)Assist in the continuous improvement methodology of the Finance Acquisition Integration

About you:

The following are required pre-requisites for the role:

  • Minimum 5-7 years public accounting/industry experience, in an Accounting role demonstrating progression
  • Experience with full cycle accounting processes in industry (GL, AR/Billing, AP, Financial Reporting, Payroll)
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking & analytical skills are highly important
  • Extensive knowledge in US GAAP accounting and due diligence
  • Ability to lead cross-functional integration discussion
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to quickly build relations
  • Excellent analytical skills 

The following are strongly preferred pre-requisites for the role:

  • Mergers and acquisitions experience
  • CPA certification
  • Experience with SAGE Intacct, IBM Planning Analytics and Blackline
  • Experience software industry accounting matters (US GAAP, KPIs, contract deliverables)
