Provides the service of vascular access to patients that require intravenous (IV) therapy through peripheral IV starts, including long PIV and midline catheters.
The Vascular Access Team functions with demonstrated expertise in providing care and/or consultation to pediatric patients hospital-wide requiring peripheral venous access. The Vascular Access Team is a recognized resource in providing guidance in line management, teaching and continuity planning of children with peripheral venous lines.
Knowledgeable in pain reduction techniques for IV placement.
Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
Ability to work independently and utilize time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to cope with physically and mentally stressful situations.
Interpersonal skills which frequently involve collaborating with peers, supervisors and medical staff on issues in order to accomplish objectives for patient care.
