LOCATION: Lancaster, PA

HOURS: .8 FTE, 32 hours per week, 7a-8p, 1 Saturday morning per month

SIGN ON BONUS: $4,000 with a 2-year commitment to the organization (external applicants and eligible internal applicants only)

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs all routine diagnostic Radiographic and Mammographic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media and application of immobilization and radiation protection devices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Performs all routine diagnostic Radiographic and Mammographic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media and application of immobilization and radiation protection devices.
  • Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with radiologists as necessary.
  • Greets patients in a timely and efficient manner--confirming their identifications, performing the correct procedures as directed, and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed.
  • Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history. Documents other information as required.
  • Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs other paperwork as applicable

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

  • Performs visual preventive safety inspections. Completes warm-up procedures for each radiographic room/equipment as assigned. Records quality control activities. Reports equipment conditions to site Supervisor or appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock in order to eliminate outdated items.
  • Participates in the clinical education of Radiology students as required.
  • Maintains required competency skills in point of care testing and specimen collection.
  • Participates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiological Technology school.
  • Certification in Radiological Technology, issued by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists.
  • Certification in Mammography, issued by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists, is required.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two (2) years of recent clinical experience beyond training.
