Role Description Summary:

The Transition Management team are responsible for the consistent and effective operation of the following operational services.

Operational Readiness Review (ORR): A critical and mandatory Bank-wide control that ensures all new applications transitioning into the Bank’s production environment are compliant with a number of defined security, compliance and Production integrity controls. The purpose of ORR is to:

  • Ensure 100% of Applications Instances registered as ‘In Development’ in the Bank’s application repository are independently verified as being compliant with a defined set of key IT Security and Production/Operational Readiness controls prior to ‘Go-Live’.
  • Ensure all exception requests and bypass attempts are made transparent and appropriately handled to an eventual ‘Compliant’ outcome.
  • Improve the overall consistency, integrity, and security of the Bank’s production systems.
  • Automate control verification action where viable and continuously monitor and improve control coverage and execution efficiency.

Operational Readiness Consulting: An optional chargeable service that can be purchased by Program or Project Managers to accelerate a program’s understanding, completion, and adherence to highly important – and sometimes complex – ORR controls and non-functional requirements. ORC enables new applications and major application releases to be delivered on schedule and be properly compliant, secure, and effectively supported/operated at the time of go-live/release

Your key responsibilities

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert and specialist advisor who provides guidance to HR (including the various Performance & Reward delivery functions where relevant), to other control functions and Divisional rewards leads
  • Support a team of professionals to deliver the P&R agenda efficiently and consistently across their divisions in India
  • Define, manage and oversee delivery of performance and reward process including fixed pay and variable compensation planning
  • Ensure compliance with Group governance and regulatory requirements for the various legal entities in India
  • Provide/Coordinate advice to different stakeholders in the country wrt hiring and retention and change to performance and reward policy and frameworks
  • Manage oversight and governance activities for India payroll
  • Analyse and assess regulatory and market practice developments in relation to their impacts, to ensure that Products/Plans, Policies, Frameworks and Processes are operated in a compliant manner and in line with best practice. Co-ordinate and establish regular benchmarking of Deutsche Bank’s compensation against competitor practices and stay on top of industry and general trends
  • Collaborate regionally to assess, design, implement, govern & project manage the introduction of proposed or approved changes to benefits/ other policies related to rewards

The key responsibilities of the Operational Readiness Lead within the Transition Management team are:

The management and continuous service improvement of Operational Readiness Consulting (ORC):

  • Lead a globally distributed team of Transition Managers, Service Transition Specialists and Technical Analysts to manage and support transition of applications through the Operational Readiness & Cloud onboarding mandatory control requirements.
  • Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with service customers including Program Managers, ITAO's and TISO's.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with Program teams besides Control, Operations & Technology teams and other relevant stakeholders to ensure service objectives are met.
  • Manage relationship with vendor and ensure key deliverables are met.
  • Plan vendor team capacity keeping in view the pipeline of work. Hire & train vendor resources to meet service requirements.
  • Plan and manage budgets. Prepare & review monthly forecasting, full year plan and manage the corresponding budgets.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the application onboarding process and DB’s application and infrastructure control requirements.
  • Ensure Service Operating Model is fit for purpose and constantly updated and optimised to reflect policy changes.
  • Ensure Service Operating Model leverages 'best practice' ways of working across all processes.

Key Skill Requirements of the Operational Readiness Lead

  • Must have a solid understanding of ITIL Service Transition, application software development lifecycle and application release management processes.
  • Must have around 10-15 years’ experience working in a large IT organisation in the areas of IT change/release management, with proven experience in the delivery of application releases into production.
  • Must have a good understanding of production application support needs and requirements.
  • Must have a sound grasp of Cloud technologies and operational environment.
  • Must have proven experience of leading internal or vendor team size of around 15-20 people.

Key Competency Requirements of the Operational Readiness Lead

  • Must have a good ‘eye for detail’ and solid analysis, assessment, and detective capabilities.
  • Must be comfortable and capable to effectively challenge and question stakeholders when required.
  • Must be highly diligent, responsive, and have the determination/tenacity to achieve the required conclusion even when faced with issues - must be very results oriented.
  • Must have very good spoken and written English skills and the ability to effectively articulate status, issues and required actions.
  • Must be an effective team player and be highly collaborative with all stakeholders.
  • Must be able to communicate in an open, calm, and friendly manner even when under pressure.
  • Must be creative and able to identify, articulate and provide justification for process improvements.
  • Must be able to demonstrate integrity and sound judgement – be able to make decisions appropriately, having considered all appropriate available courses of action and considering the human impact, long and short termshort-term consequences for the Bank (risks, benefits, costs etc).
  • Must be flexible and agile and be comfortable with changing direction in order to meet dynamic and changing requirements and/or avoid adverse outcomes.
