About the role:

We’re looking for a passionate Senior Platform Engineer to join our team. The role will work closely with architects, application and cloud engineers to design, build, deploy, manage and operate our production platform to support internal teams. The Senior Platform Engineer will be a part of a global team and contribute to build and maintain infrastructure and help us achieve SLA goals of 99.99%.

What you’ll do:

  • Own, implement and support reusable self-service tooling for internal Cloud/DevOps and development teams.
  • Develop command-line and web-based tools, as well as build Infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
  • Implement guardrails and reporting tools to help enforce best practices, security and compliance at scale.
  • Collaborate with Cloud, Security, Database and application development teams in order to identify and prioritize their platform needs.
  • Develop and improve our full-stack observability, logging, monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Assist with capacity planning and load testing of our applications.
  • Work with cloud infrastructure on AWS and Cloudflare.
  • Work with container workloads using Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, and Helm.
  • Work with CI/CD and GitOps tools such as GitHub Actions, FluxCD, ArgoCD and Scalr.
  • Implement best practices with observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, DataSet and PagerDuty.
  • Help develop new best practices by researching new technological solutions.
  • Assist with organization-wide security considerations.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience supporting production infrastructure in a public cloud, such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Experience building a small web application and deploying it to production using modern CI/CD tools.
  • Application development and testing experience in one of: Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, Elixir, Rust, etc.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure work and expertise on AWS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Docker containers and Kubernetes.
  • Passion for building user-friendly, automated tools for developers.
  • Good combination of technical and interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Expertise in Linux, networking, and database concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Terraform and bash.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems.
