The role of the Financial Controller is a highly visible role in the finance team. The individual will primarily be responsible for owning the day-to-day operations, including the monthly close process, payroll, accounts payable, local tax accounting, local statutory reporting, and internal controls. This role requires a solid foundation in U.S. GAAP accounting, strong analytical and communication skills, and a passion for operational excellence. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Finance Operations based out Charlestown, MA.



  • Serve as a business partner to the Head of Country and the International team
  • Work closely with US finance team for month, quarter and year-end accounting close and annual audit requirements including compliance to Sarbanes Oxley control activities, month end accruals, and variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Lead activities related to local filings for statutory compliance related to tax, payroll, FBT and GST
  • Manage payables and purchasing activities including GST claims for local and international locations
  • Prepare journal entries for review, access system for data entry and reconcile financial accounts following the month end close calendar
  • Treasury approval and payment process for weekly payment runs
  • Interact with tax, accounting, and legal service providers, including managing TMF
  • Become the subject matter expert for the Finance team’s various systems, including Oracle and Concur
  • Manage all other major processes including accruals, fixed assets, and prepaids
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve the process, controls, and information systems.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate direct reports as we build out the team over the next twelve months

  • Bachelor’s degree, or local equivalent
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • 10-15 years equivalent experience
  • Oracle proficiency is preferred
  • CPA or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience working with international companies’ a plus
