Essential Functions: 

The Global Distribution Sales Director is responsible for setting and executing the Global External Distribution short-term and long-term commercial strategy and related sourcing activities for HFS Aerospace Distribution, in accordance with the WW sales strategy. The role is responsible for understanding, mapping, and developing strategic sales plans to achieve such plan at relevant Global External Distributors. The Global Distribution Sales Director part of the steering committee of the HFS WW Sales Community, participating to the global aerospace strategy development, reporting to the VP, Global Commercial Aerospace. 

The Global Distribution Sales Director will support development of the global HFS aerospace strategic plan, growth initiatives, the interface between Sales / Marketing, customer representatives and management, and will resolve issues related to orders, delivery, product applications, and other commercial and technical issues.

Specific Responsibilities Include: 

  1. Work with the commercial team in the identification, development & sustainability of HFS accounts in line with the business strategy, ensuring strategies for distribution, optimize HFS business and minimize conflicts and internal competition.
  2. Support development and execution of marketing strategy for HFS, in coordination with other commercial staff members and various resources within HFS.
  3. Establish challenging objectives to meet HFS growth strategy and target new business within both existing & developing markets, ensuring priorities are appropriately defined, with effective action plans.
  4. Work closely with the Commercial team to provide support and manage projects for customers, and compile and support the HFS executive staff with accurate sales reports/forecasts in a timely manner.
  5. Conduct people management responsibilities, including hiring, job assignments, performance reviews, and other people management requirements. Identify key skills of team members to enable them to perform effectively and efficiently, in line with business needs and strategies, and develop the team’s skill base and knowledge.
  6. Liaise with various Global HFS locations to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  7. Facilitate the resolution of customer issues, including quality and on-time delivery performance.
  8. Provide support for field training activities for team members, distributors, and other customers.
  9. Participate in development of designs, configuration, project scheduling and installation within the limits of established policies and procedures and coordinate communication with customers and the market to ensure customers have up to date product information.
  10. Review and manage contract requirements to ensure they are within limits of established policies and procedures, including commercial and intellectual property (patent, trademark, licensing) requirements. Help establish, coordinate, and maintain commercial policies for HFS.
  11. Coordinate support to customers and suppliers for a wide range of products and applications.
  12. Assure complete and accurate transmittal of contract information throughout the organization. 
  13. Evaluate details, overall design and functional components to ensure compliance with requirements. Conduct engineering and commercial analyses, and plan and implement test programs to ensure compliance with system requirements. 
  14. Support configuration management of all products in adherence to applicable procedures and plans. 
  15. Generate quotes to support customer proposal packages and coordinate large proposals throughout the commercial and senior staff of HFS. Support coordination within the broader Howmet Aerospace groups, when required. 
  16. Prepare and deliver customer presentations as needed. Coordinate commercial, technical and market details for product and marketing literature and trade show displays and communications, as needed. 
  17. Coordinate global integration for aerospace projects and programs.
  18. Coordinate changes in equipment, processes, materials or services to support growth, cost reduction and/or process improvements.
  19. Establish positive relationships with customer representatives and managers in procurement, logistics, engineering, program and project offices, and other personnel to convince customers of desirability and practicability of products or services offered. 
  20. Conduct people management responsibilities, including hiring, job assignments, performance reviews, and other people management requirements in a timely and professional manner. 
  21. Identify key skills of team members to enable them to perform effectively and efficiently, in line with business needs and strategies, and develop the team’s skill base and knowledge.
  22. Adhere to all company policies and procedures and environmental health and safety rules. Work in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and environment. Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions. Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $230,000.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accredited university is required. MBA degree is a plus. 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience at management level and an experience in Aerospace fasteners sales distribution. 
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities to proactively lead a team of managerial and professional people and to interact effectively with individuals and groups both internal and external to the company and at all organizational levels. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft programs with intermediate proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Analytically oriented and able to effectively problem solve and deliver on objectives.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
