Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking a mid to senior level Engineer to work in our Helena, MT office.
Typical project tasks are expected to include project management, treatment plan design and improvement, general civil engineering design, working within environmental regulations, writing specifications, cost estimating, mentoring other engineers, and construction oversight. Typical projects involve hazardous waste remediation, water treatment, and abandoned mine reclamation. Careful and accurate data reporting and technical writing are expected.
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 3+ years’ combined education/work experience working with water treatment and other civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in water treatment design and operations, or an MS or PhD with graduate work related to water treatment. Preferred treatment design includes experience in municipal design as well as metals and organics removal. Managing large data sets and knowledge of remote sensing data collection are preferred. Strong technical writing skills required.
Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Must also have the ability to travel across the State and the Nation as needed. Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Other skills include Design Skills, Project Management, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Safety Management, Construction Supervision, and CAD.
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degrees in Engineering required. Candidates must have successfully passed the EIT exam. PE, or ability to obtain a Montana PE within two years preferred. A current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certificate is also preferred
The work environment may require field investigations and other project characterizations that require the ability to visit and inspect projects on various terrain and in hot and cold seasonal weather.
A valid current driver’s license to travel to and from job sites is required. Air travel to field project sites outside Montana may be required.
This position requires you to drive on a regular basis and will require passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check. In addition, this position required background checks. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
