Summary of Position
As directed, provides technical guidance, support and workflow direction to histotechnologists, histotechnicians and other Pathology personnel on the evening shift.. Manages day-to-day workflow and ensures turnaround time requirements are met. Performs and assists in a variety of standard and specialized laboratory procedures and tests. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Provides exemplary service and is a role model for staff. Works in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree or graduate of an accredited histotechnology program. ASCP certification as a histologic technician (HTL) or equivalent.
Skills and Experience: At least 5 years of histology experience. Functioning knowledge of anatomy, chemistry, physiology, and experience in enzymes histochemistry and immunoperoxidase stains. Ability to perform accurate, reliable and high level work quickly and under pressure. Good hand eye coordination and the ability to work with delicate instruments and automated equipment. Able to function with minimal technical supervision. Written and verbal communication skills, leadership potential. Exercises good judgement in routine and non-routine situations. Comprehends situations with minimal explanation. Some supervisory or leadership experience helpful.
