Job Description

Partnerships for People, Inc. is seeking Day Enrichment Specialist to join in the mission of partnering with people with disabilities to help build relationships and develop skills to live and work as valued members of their community.

Responsibilities Include:

  • The Day Enrichment Specialist under the supervision of the Day Enrichment Coordinator, will provide support retired individuals living in Supervised Living Apartments managed by Partnerships for People.
  • The Day Enrichment Specialist will support persons served by aiding them in selecting activities based on the weekly engagement calendar, encouraging and facilitating regular participation in activities offered, and leading on-site activities including teaching/coaching activities of daily living, self-care, health and wellness, appropriate behavioral response, social integration, and recreation and leisure.
  • Enrichment Specialist will work collaboratively with site management to ensure individuals are supported effectively.
  • The Day Enrichment Specialist must comply with all policies and regulations and requirements which govern the services Partnerships for People, Inc. delivers.
  • The Day Enrichment Specialist will cooperate with Partnerships and the Division of Developmental Disabilities in all inspections or investigations, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience with vulnerable populations (preference for those with IDD experience)
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Must be artistically creative, motivational, and energetic with a passion for serving others
  • Must possess patience and sensitivity to others’ needs
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License with driving privileges in good standing and access to properly insured vehicle
  • Successful completion of pre-employment process, including Background check and FBI clearances, MVR, Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) and Drug Testing
