Senior Director- Internal Communications – IT/Business Process and Major Programs

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Working across the PVH organization and its iconic brand portfolio that includes CALVIN KLEIN and TOMMY HILFIGER, the Senior Director, Internal Communications is a key member of the Information Technology (IT) and Business Process/PMO organization.  This position is focused on internal communications and reports through the Business Process organization, into the CIO, while maintaining a dotted line into PVH's global communications and corporate branding teams to ensure strategic alignment and consistent global messaging.

This position is responsible for the development and distribution of key messages to inform, inspire and engage all PVH associates involved with or impacted by PVH’s major business transformation initiatives as well as those associates within the Information Technology and Business Process organization.  PVH’s Change Management Team is also a key partner for transformation initiatives.

You will help shape and share our organization’s culture, and communicate about major initiatives across PVH and our brands. This position will focus on the communication needs of the CIO (and her Leadership Team) and PVH’s major transformation programs.  Communication plan will include executive communications, memos, talking points, presentations, videos, intranet, events etc.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Develop communications strategies to support the global PVH IT and Business Process priorities; act as main point of contact for CIO and her Leadership Team communications
  • Develop, manage and execute communication plans across multiple audiences, functions, regions and channels for major business transformation programs; support these top initiatives as a strategic partner that executes at a tactical level. 
  • Work in partnership with the PVH Corporate Communications Team, ensuring IT and Program internal communications align to corporate best practices and branding teams to make messages more engaging; reinforce messages tied to PVH strategies and values.
  • Accountable for performance and results of the internal communications deliverables for major transformation programs. Develop and implement effective communication strategies to improve employee engagement and increase awareness and adoption of major program initiatives.
  • Report high level recaps to communicate IT and Program activity to larger PVH audience; communicate through the lifecycle of transformation initiatives across stakeholder groups
  • Develop and distribute content across multiple channels including, email, presentations, videos, our corporate intranet, associate engagement app and social media channels.
  • Create and implement a communications briefing process/mechanism to efficiently manage inflow of communication needs/requests and governance of communication outflow

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    Experience:          

  • 10 years of writing, public relations, editorial and/or communications experience, preferably with an IT communications background
  • 3 years of people management experience.
  • Extensive understanding of communications principles and practices
  • Some prior experience with internal company communications is required
  • Experience with IT systems or business transformation initiatives is preferred
  • Apparel or Fashion experience preferred but not required

      

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Journalism or related field is required; graduate degree preferred.

Skills: 

  • Excellent communication skills, including advanced written and oral communications.
  • Ability to write clear, concise content for internal communications that reflect a consistent tone and key audience understanding. 
  • Ability to comprehend technical information and translate to simple, factual communications for non-technical audiences. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills; can develop and manage relationships across groups and functions at all levels of the organization including senior leadership
  • Ability to work confidently under tight deadlines while paying close attention to detail; effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate effective critical thinking and planning skills.
  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.

Internal: All levels across the IT and Business Process organization and leadership teams; PVH Corporate Communications and Change Management Teams, Program Managers, Exec Steering Committees, Human Resources, and other Department/Functional partners.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct: There are no direct reports at this time.  However, this role may evolve to have direct reports as the team is built to support the breadth of the IT organization and number of major programs in the active portfolio.  This role may also manage contractors or vendors providing services to support portfolio needs through this leader. 

         

Indirect: Ability to develop relationships across groups and functions at all levels of the organization including senior leadership

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

None directly at this time; will manage cost within budget for major programs.

DECISION MAKING: 

Supports decision making with recommendations and research.  Will manage the decision making process for communications between IT, Business Process and Corporate Communications. 

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: 

We are 360 degree communicators, providing both strategic recommendations and tactical execution across multiple channels, often with little notice or lead time. We are problem solvers that "keep things moving" and "make it happen" without breaking a sweat.  We are always improving and looking for creative ways to upgrade what we did before.  Requires the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

ENVIRONMENT:   

Highly collaborative, open and flexible work environment. This role requires being part of meetings throughout the global IT organization in-person and virtually. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Domestic and international travel may be required.
