Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for a Sr Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional operational and technology projects and programs within the MX Surface Transportation programs; with a track record of operational excellence to drive scalability, ensuring strong processes and culture are developed. This person will work in areas of the business with a high degree of ambiguity that require a great deal of thought leadership. The role will provide opportunities to think big, develop original ideas, and partner with Transportation Planning, Fulfillment Experience, Operations and business expansion teams to develop a strategic approach to scale ATS Operations. This role challenge tactical and operational issues that will require a deep analysis of our distribution network, hands-on problem solving mentality and a tenacity to execute solutions that will impact short term and long term operations. You will closely work with and involve functional teams to achieve best in class solutions. You will drive performance measures, find solutions to complex logistics problems, pursue strategic, and operational initiatives by managing innovation projects together across our constantly expanding Mexico´s Transportation Network.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop of the Middle MIle Logistics program strategy, tactically driving teams in and outside of your organization to deliver solutions (customer experience, speed, technology, cost) for MX Surface Transportation Network.
• Provides Transportation solutions to support the use cases of various teams, including Network Planning, Scheduling, and Route Planning.
• Implement large scale projects and logistics efficiencies when moving from one place to another considering Amazon 3P carriers dedicated fleet to maximize truck utilization and critical path planning.
• Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood or documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from third-party solutions, security not considered, insufficient stakeholder review, etc.)
• Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
• Develop, implement, KPI reporting providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across Middle Mile Transportation Network and projects.
• Roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality.,

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of program or project management experience
• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
• Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
• +6 years of experience in transportation
• English and Spanish Advanced

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
• Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
