Senior Technical Leader for CTO Office

The CTO Office in the lab is looking for a senior technical leader to enhance the teams’ technical skills. This role requires exceptional technical, engineering and interpersonal abilities.

Job Description

The CTO office defines and drives adoption of the engineering practices in the lab.  This includes practices like, design, coding, and quality assurance. The CTO office also deals with development and adoption of new advance technologies in the Lab and in Citi. Key factors in the CTO office work are collaboration, alignment, and cooperation with the Lab management and technical leadership.   
As part of the CTO office, your responsibilities would include:
  1. Working with the lab teams on their engineering challenges. You will help teams define high-level and low-level designs, code reviews, and choosing the appropriate development tools. When required, you are expected to actively contribute to the programming and quality challenges of a specific team.  This includes both functional and non-functional challenges, ranging from basic UI and presentation issues to complex load and performance analysis and improvements. 
  2. Introducing and defining new tools and methodologies. Drive the adoption of tools that would help teams and developers to improve their effectiveness and productivity. Work with team leads and other architects in the lab to identify engineering needs and address them.
  3. Responsibility for shared technical components and infrastructure in the center. Help teams define these components, implement, adopt and maintain them.  
  4. Fast prototyping of new projects. Working individually and with others (e.g., people from the Israeli industry or from other Citi locations) to build prototypes that demonstrate potential value to Citi businesses. Leading teams of junior developers in fast prototyping of either immediate business projects or long-term visionary ones.     
  5. Interviewing and mentoring of developers in the Lab. Help define and maintain the interview standards in the Lab. Work with junior developers to enhance their interviewing skills.     
  6. Drive technical education. Define and maintain technical educational activities in the center, either by individual education at the center or by external resources. 
  7. Global Engineering. Working with Citi centralized engineering team to drive and adopt new technologies and methodologies in Citi and in the Lab.   

Job Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership-without-authority skills. Proven ability to lead people by example, individual with a determined  ‘can-do’ attitude. Passion to lead people and help them develop their skills.
  • Assertive and mature personality. Knows how to deal with conflicts and ambiguity in both the technical and management levels. 
  • At least 7 year experience in large multi-national, high-tech corporate environment. 
  • At least 7 year experience in large-scale software design and implementation
  • Capabilities in programming, design, in at least 2 environments (e.g., .Net and Java). Both server and client side development experience. 
  • Passion for innovation and exploring new technologies.
  • Expert in Agile, with understanding of the Agile process, tools, and practices.  
  • Product oriented design capabilities, proven capabilities to prioritize work and tasks.
  • A keen interest in continually evolving software development processes.
