What to Expect

This position covers the audio product development from architecture to vehicle integration. Specifically, it will take on audio technology innovation and adoption with the Audio team, audio electrical design and validation in EE team, and the vehicle integration effort with System SW and Audio DSP teams. It will also partake in diagnostic test implementation and data collections from the manufacturing environment and vehicle fleet.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive audio electronics products (microphone, amplifier, etc.) from inception to end of life
  • Explore new audio technologies, specifically, electrical architecture
  • Work closely with audio architects to define and update audio features on the roadmap
  • Own electrical schematics and implementation on both electrical architecture and audio products
  • Plan, execute, interpret, and document validation testing
  • Work with suppliers on design and testing of audio products
  • Interpret, document and manage product drawings and specifications
  • Work with other Tesla design teams on the integration of the Audio system components
  • Testing of audio systems and components in Tesla vehicles
  • Drive component and system level troubleshooting

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelors in Engineering, or proof of exceptional skills in related field, with minimum 5 years of experience developing audio products from scratch
  • Demonstrated technical depth in audio products (acoustics and electronics)
  • Proven depth and breadth in analog and digital circuit analysis
  • Ability to work closely with design, software, testing and manufacturing teams
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross functional team members from multiple disciplines to reach fact-based decisions
  • Have some previous Audio DSP, System Integration, Product Development, & CAD Design exposure
  • Strong problem solving skills and desire to work in fast paced environment
  • Experience with environmental constraints (temp, humidity, and vibration), regulatory compliance and relative product debug
  • Technical and Product Management skills to communicate and drive internal teams and external suppliers

Expected Compensation

$100,160 - $225,840/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
