Tesla’s Test and Automation Group is seeking a highly motivated Technical Program Manager to drive the design, development and deployment of test systems that support our production lines worldwide. The core team has a diverse range of expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in engineering design and experience with program management. This individual will interface with design engineering, firmware teams, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to identify and define product constraints, identify key change items, and work closely to resolve issues. Communicating and present project status, highlight schedule risks and decencies, motivate the team to meet aggressive deadline, anticipate the possible pitfalls and provide creative solutions will all be essential to success in this position. The ideal candidate takes pride in their hands-on work, analytical ability, organizational skills, and is highly motivated.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as liaison between the Low Voltage Test Engineering team and Product Management
  • Create, maintain, and communicate schedules and plans for developing and deploying custom manufacturing equipment to meet start of production and ramp
  • Responsible for coordinating test strategy and test station qualification, while also reporting effectively on status, blockers, and changes to plan of record
  • Standardize and optimize the test processes across the entire manufacturing production line, including In-Circuit Testing, Firmware Flashing and End Of Line Testing
  • Work with contract manufacturers on test related standard operating procedures, production line requirements, and cycle time/UPH
  • Collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams in developing test process flow, equipment/fixture designs, process controls, validation plans, and provide onsite support as needed
  • Track build plan and capacity of deployed equipment at our factories to ensure demand is met
  • Track resourcing of projects and drive resource balancing between different program priorities
  • Advise and develop systems and best practices for communication and change management
  • Complete appropriate documentation and ensure accuracy of data across Tesla systems (Enovia, Confluence, SharePoint, JIRA, Polarion)

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, with evidence of exceptional ability
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for managing change
  • Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Exposure to electrical test instruments (DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers, etc.)
  • Understanding of design cycle and design problem solving processes
  • Able to work in different time zones to support global projects

Expected Compensation

$68,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
