The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

In this role, you will be the orchestrator of existing provider relationships, onboarding new providers, and renewing and enhancing programs and contracts while measuring and driving positive outcomes.

Lead existing provider relationship programs, identifying opportunities for enhancements that yield measurable results. Develop, execute, and implement cutting-edge engagement programs and relationships that seamlessly align with the organization’s overarching goals and objectives. Manage provider relationships with finesse, serving as the primary point of contact for all activities. Drive growth and development initiatives to ensure the sustained vitality of product/program relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all provider/partner activities including those within AARP Services and the organization. Manages the day-to-day provider relationship and activities to ensure success of the product/program.
  • Ensures program growth including revenue, member value and product enhancement opportunities through annual account plan development.
  • Manages the ongoing quality control of programs and assures compliance with all contract terms including review process of the program and provider/partner, oversight of marketing plans, product operational plans, and product enhancement.
  • Manages or participates in provider contract renegotiations in the portfolio for the products/programs offered to the organization’s members.
  • Influences matrix to optimize program functions, including strategic account planning and growth.
  • Works with the providers on the development of a continuous improvement process for all program and product categories.
  • Collaborates with the leadership to set strategic direction for the program and program development
  • Completes periodic competitive assessments of program or products in order to monitor relative value within the marketplace and identifies the features and competitive advantages versus the competition.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, advertising, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years in product development, management, financial forecasting, consultative sales, and business account/relationship management, preferably in the travel industry.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with diverse audiences.
  • Solid critical thinking with proficiency in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Proven ability to build, grow, and manage productive business relationships with program providers.
  • Skilled in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects/vendors.
  • Solid skills in MS Office Suite and Salesforce.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
